Is the Compact Flash card obsolete now? No, not necessarily! Sure, for me the use of CF cads ended around 2005, when I got to digital cameras that used MMC or SD cards, or xD cards instead of the much larger Compact Flash cards. But professional DSLRs, especially full-frame models, still use CF cards.
