The gain factor is not the only difference between an AT7 and an AX7. The 12AT7 has a much higher plate currents and transconductance than a 12AX. A 5751 is much more similar to a 12AX7, but with lower gain (70%). They can pass much the same amount of current.Apr 8, 2007
